Dear Sister

Memories are slices of life frozen in time
Dreams that bring these memories to life
A beautiful heart taken in its prime
Those left behind to manage the strife

Far too soon you were taken from us
Your laugh, your smile, your enduring trust
Taking the good and bad without any fuss
We grieve your parting as mean and unjust.

Time has passed and the pain now fades
Replaced by memories and dreams to hold
Your love and gifts dropped like pieces of jade
Cherishing the time given our friendship to unfold

Since the day you departed and long past today
Missing you will be a big part of my being
In my heart, my mind, my dreams you will stay
Never without you, my love is unyielding

You were with me yesterday, you will be here tomorrow
Through the pain and the loss I see a brighter day
I miss you, dear sister, yet I now feel less sorrow.
One filled with memories and dreams forever to stay
