Mars Exploration & Beyond

There are many reasons why we, as a nation, should reinstate NASA Space Exploration. First of all, let me just say that these are my own opinions based on personal research. I have no degree in this field, I am just an ordinary person sitting at home pondering things that are much bigger than my little part of the world.

The USA and all of its citizens need something to unite us. To enable us to come together as one nation and put aside our differences. The past as proven that space exploration can and will provide this. There is so much more out there to be discovered. So many new technologies to developed. So much more we can learn about ourselves, our planet, our environment, and so much more.

From 1958-2008, NASA developments gave us over 1,600 new technologies that we use each and everyday here on Earth:

For more than 40 years, the NASA Innovative Partnerships Program has facilitated the transfer of NASA technology to the private sector, benefiting global competition and the economy. The resulting commercialization has contributed to the development of commercial products and services in the fields of health and medicine, industry, consumer goods, transportation, public safety, computer technology, and environmental resources. Since 1976, Spinoff has featured over 1,600 of these commercial products.

These contributions are a huge part of each of our lives. We couldn’t imagine life without them. Yet without the Space Program, it is likely that many of them to this day would not exist. Imagine that!

Yes, imagine, dream, reach for the stars! It is out there. It is here. It is now, and It is needed. Do not stifle the human imagination. Let us tell our children to “reach for the stars”. Nothing is impossible. Yes, you can grow up to be an Astronaut!

Not only will we inspire this generation, but we will inspire many generations to come. I can’t begin to imagine what new innovations, new technologies, what new science will come from us endeavoring to explore Mars. So for me, I say, ONWARD TO MARS AND BEYOND!
